What can I do for myself right now?
Did you have time to relax or was it challenging?
My weekend was both beautiful and very challenging. I had a therapeutic yoga training which is so enriching with new experiences and knowledge. And on top of that, a sick husband and imminent children. During the breaks I was rushing to take care of the kids and listen to my husband in pain. Today it has died down a bit, the kids have learned to do a lot of things on their own. So I ask myself:
What can I do for myself?
We don’t have to wait for the collapse. We can ask every day. And multiple times?
What can I do for myself?
Sure, sometimes I’d rather answer: I want a fortnight of wellness in Bali without kids and husband. But let’s pause and ask ourselves:
What can I do for myself NOW?
Maybe I’ll just drink my tea. I may have needed to go to the bathroom for an hour now. Maybe I’d rather wear something else. Maybe I need to call a friend.
It doesn’t always have to be something big, but if we take care of ourselves with kindness and ask ourselves every day, it can completely change our lives and our perception of ourselves.
You may ask and find that you need more connection with your body, more movement, more connection with yourself, and that’s where I come in.
